What are these numbers on plastic packaging and what do they turn into?

The resin identification codes on the packaging tell you what kind of plastic the packaging is made of. It should be noted that the resin code does not mean "recyclable". The purpose of the codes is to identify the resin. We and recycling service organizations like us often use these definitions in their processes. We recommend contacting your local recycling organizations to see what types of plastics are accepted for recycling in your area. Here are some examples of packaging types that typically have these resin codes, as well as a few of the products manufactured using the raw material obtained by recycling them.
